Nigeria's Oil Sector Aims for 70% Local Content by 2027

Nigeria has achieved 61% local content in the oil and gas sector, moving towards a 70% target set for 2027. To address this, stakeholders will gather in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for the 15th Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum, organized by dmg Nigeria Events in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
The forum will focus on sustaining progress, addressing capacity gaps, and strengthening indigenous participation beyond the current 2017–2027 Nigerian Content Strategic Roadmap. Wemimo Oyelana, Portfolio and Country Director of dmg Nigeria Events, stated that the forum aims to shift from measuring progress to identifying priorities for the next phase of local content development.
Discussions will include financing, procurement opportunities, supplier development, and necessary regulatory reforms to adapt to market changes and improve compliance.
