Stanbic IBTC Reports 40% Profit Surge and N4.50 Dividend

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc announced its H1 2026 financial results, revealing a 40.13% increase in profit before tax, amounting to N341.57 billion, compared to N243.74 billion in H1 2025. Gross earnings rose by 27.15% to N650.31 billion from N511.45 billion.
Profit after tax also increased by 38.20% to N239.68 billion from N173.43 billion. The Board recommended an interim dividend of N4.50 per ordinary share, an 80% increase from the N2.50 declared for H1 2025.
The profit growth was attributed to a significant rise in non-interest revenue, particularly from trading income, which turned to a gain of N126.36 billion from a loss of N856 million in H1 2025. Despite a decline in interest income by 5.40% to N359.10 billion and a rise in interest expenses by 34.98% to N92.83 billion, lower impairment charges helped support the profit increase.
Total assets grew by 26.59% to N10.91 trillion, with customer deposits rising by 5.90% to N4.63 trillion.
