February 2026: FAAC Allocates N784bn to States

In February 2026, Nigeria's Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursed a total of N784.29 billion to 36 states, marking an increase compared to previous months and the same period last year. The allocation was significantly boosted by statutory inflows, VAT collections, and improved economic activities, particularly in non-oil sectors.

Notably, the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) was excluded from this month's disbursement due to pending statutory reconciliations, which did not materially affect revenue performance. Katsina State, despite having no derivation entitlement, ranked tenth in the FAAC allocation, receiving N18.49 billion, a 16.06% increase from N15.93 billion in February 2025.

This reflects the growing importance of VAT redistribution and non-oil revenue in shaping the allocation outcomes for northern states. The data indicates a trend of increasing non-oil economic activities influencing state allocations.
