The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, responded to a viral photo allegedly showing Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State worshipping him, firmly denying any connection to the image. The Sultan's media team, led by Bashir Adefaka, described the claims surrounding the photo as false and misleading, asserting that it was designed to incite unnecessary tension and introduce divisive narratives along religious and ethnic lines.

The statement emphasized that the content of the image was fabricated and posed a serious threat to national unity and security. The Sultan's media team urged the public to disregard the viral post and remain cautious of misinformation that could manipulate emotions and create divisions.
