Iwobi Reveals Why He Chose Nigeria Over England

Alex Iwobi, a professional footballer, shared his journey of choosing to represent Nigeria over England in an interview. Initially, Iwobi played for various England youth teams but faced challenges in breaking into Arsenal's first team.

His career took a turn when Nigeria invited him to join their Olympic team at the age of 19. Despite being part of England's U21 setup, he felt he wasn't getting regular first-team action.

Iwobi's father and uncle encouraged him to explore the opportunity with Nigeria. He described his first experience with the Nigerian team, noting the basic conditions but a strong sense of belonging.

He recalled the joy of being part of the team, especially during a match against Egypt. Iwobi made his debut for the Super Eagles in October 2015 during a friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo and has since become an important player, participating in 98 matches and scoring 10 goals.
