Femi Azeez Scores Brace in Super Eagles Debut Win

Femi Azeez, a new addition to the Super Eagles, made a remarkable debut by scoring two goals against Zimbabwe's Warriors during a match at Charlton Athletic Stadium in London. The game was part of the Four Nations Invitational Cup tournament.

Azeez's first goal came just five minutes into the match, assisted by team captain Terem Moffi. The Super Eagles displayed confidence and teamwork throughout the game, with Azeez contributing significantly alongside teammates Obinna Igbok, Chibuez Oputa, Chibuik Nwaiwu, and Philip Otel.

Despite Zimbabwe featuring several top players, including captain Marvel Nakamba and goalkeeper Sibanda, they struggled to convert their chances. Azeez doubled Nigeria's lead in the 63rd minute, finishing a well-executed play initiated by Moffi.

This victory positions the Super Eagles to face the winner of the second semifinal between Jamaica and India, as they aim to defend their title after winning the trophy last year. Coach Eric Chell is optimistic about integrating fresh talent into the senior Nigerian team ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers starting in September.
