England Calls Up Three Nigeria-Eligible Players, Dealing Blow to Super Eagles' Recruitment Plans

The England Football Association has selected three Nigerian-descent players, Emmanuel Fejokwu, David Ez, and Joshua Ab, for the upcoming Football Federation Cup in Antalya, Turkey. This move has hindered Nigeria's recruitment plans, as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was keen on convincing top-performing players of Nigerian descent in Europe to switch allegiances.

Fejokwu, a defender from West Ham, Ez, a midfielder from Liverpool, and Ab, a forward, have already featured for England's youth teams. The NFF is looking to strengthen the Super Eagles squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Gabon, with a focus on defense, midfield, and attack.

Fejokwu, Ez, and Ab will aim to earn international caps during the upcoming friendlies.
