Super Eagles to Face Egypt in AFCON 2025 3rd Place Match After Morocco Defeat

The Super Eagles will compete against Egypt in the AFCON 2025 third-place match after being defeated by Morocco in the semi-final. Egypt also lost to Senegal in the first semi-final.

The final will feature Senegal and Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on January 18, 2026. Nigeria and Egypt previously faced off in a pre-AFCON friendly match in Cairo.

During the match against Morocco, Nigerian player Brahim Diaz received a yellow card, leading to displeasure over the officiating by Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea.
