Bright Osayi-Samuel Chooses Nigeria Over England for Football

Bright Osayi-Samuel, a right-back for the Super Eagles, explained his decision to represent Nigeria instead of England, emphasizing his strong connection to his Nigerian heritage and family influence. Born in Okija to Nigerian parents, he has lived in England for fourteen years.

Osayi-Samuel made his competitive debut for Nigeria during the World Cup qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau under coach José Peseiro. He has since earned 32 caps for the national team, with a notable performance in the semifinals against Morocco during the Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

He began his career as a winger before transitioning to right-back, a position he embraced after joining Fenerbahçe.
