Switzerland triumphed over co-host Canada with a score of 2-1 in Vancouver, securing the top position in Group B of the 2026 World Cup. The match saw Ruben Varga and Johan Manzambi score for Switzerland, with Varga netting the first goal shortly after the second half began.

Manzambi followed up with a second goal 11 minutes later, solidifying Switzerland's lead. Canada managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from substitute David in the 76th minute, but it was not enough to mount a comeback.

This victory marked Switzerland's advancement to the knockout round, joining Argentina and France as the third nation to progress. Canada, despite the defeat, qualified for the knockout stage for the first time in their history, finishing as runners-up in Group B.
