Timipre Sylva's media aide, Julius Bokoru, refuted rumors linking Sylva to a coup plot in Nigeria, dismissing them as politically motivated and baseless. Bokoru accused self-centered politicians of spreading the rumors to hinder Sylva's political ambitions for the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized Sylva's commitment to democracy and transparent leadership, highlighting his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The aide clarified that Sylva's recent raid at his Abuja home was due to his wife being abroad and him undergoing routine medical checks in the UK and Malaysia.
