Awoniyi's Brace Leads Nottingham Forest to 3-1 Win Over Chelsea

In a thrilling encounter at Stamford Bridge, Nottingham Forest secured a 3-1 victory over Chelsea in the 2025-2026 Premier League season, with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring twice. Awoniyi opened the scoring just two minutes into the match with a powerful header from a Bakar cross, silencing the home crowd.

Chelsea attempted to respond, with Cole Palmer coming close and Enzo Fernández hitting the post. Nottingham Forest doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Igor Jesús calmly converted a penalty after a foul by Malo Gusto.

Chelsea was handed a lifeline deep into first-half stoppage time when Palmer's penalty was saved, leaving them two goals down at the break. Seven minutes into the second half, Morgan Gibbs-White assisted Awoniyi for his second goal, making it 3-0.

Chelsea briefly thought they had pulled one back through João Pedro, but the goal was ruled offside. Pedro eventually scored in stoppage time, but it was too late to change the outcome.
