TCN Initiates Rehabilitation of Critical Transmission Lines in Port Harcourt Region

The Abuja Transmission Company Nigeria (TCN) has started the rehabilitation of two crucial transmission lines in its Port Harcourt region, covering the Afam Independent Power Plant. The project includes the reconductoring of a 38.6km line from Afam IPP and a 20.8km line from Afam IPP Elelenwo.

Ali Sharifai, the General Manager of Transmission Services at TCN, highlighted the significance of the 12-month project in improving infrastructure and reducing wheeling capacity time. Akpa Emmanuel emphasized that these lines play a central role in evacuating bulk electricity generated at the Afam Power Plant to the national grid, ultimately enhancing power supply reliability and stability in the region.
