Team Nigeria Athletes Criticize Kit Quality at World Championship in Tokyo

Team Nigeria faced controversy at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo as athletes, including Tobi Amusan, expressed dissatisfaction with the quality and quantity of their competition kits. Amusan shared a video on social media showing her receiving a small plastic bag with low-quality clothing, raising concerns about the standard of the gear provided.

It was revealed that the National Sports Commission hastily arranged a partnership with a lesser-known brand called Hiracer to supply the kits, instead of the usual top sportswear companies like Nike or Adidas. This incident highlighted the challenges Nigerian athletes face in accessing quality gear for international competitions.
