APC's Tech-Driven Registration Enhances Electoral Strength

Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, the national chairman of the APC, highlighted that the party's use of a technology-driven registration system is boosting its electoral edge. In a statement by special adviser Abimbola Tooki, he noted the adoption of electronic membership registration to enhance internal organization, improve transparency, and strengthen mobilization ahead of the elections scheduled by INEC for February 13, 2027, for presidential and national assembly elections, and March 6, 2027, for governorship and state house assembly elections.

Yilwatda pointed out concerns from Muslim stakeholders regarding the coincidence of the 2027 elections with the Ramadan period. He also discussed amendments to the electoral act that would reduce the compulsory election notice period from 360 days to 300 days, allowing INEC to adjust its timeline.

The APC began its nationwide electronic membership registration on January 16, 2027, concluding on February 8, 2027, to provide precise member information and support efficient electoral mobilization.
