Tems Surpasses Tyla as Top African Artist on Spotify

Nigerian singer Temilad Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing South African artist Tyla as the African artist with the highest monthly listeners on Spotify. Tems reached 38.3 million monthly listeners, while Tyla had 38.2 million.

This leap in listeners is attributed to Tems' recent releases, which include features on tracks such as "Need," "Colour," and "Bouncin' (Road Blue)." Additionally, she has collaborated with notable artists like J. Cole and Dave on the track "Raindance." Tems has set a new record for the highest monthly listeners for an African artist, while Tyla previously held the record with 40 million listeners.

Tems continues to maintain her status as the most streamed female African artist on Spotify, accumulating a total of 4.7 billion streams across her credited works.
