Security Analyst Warns Against Peace Talks with Armed Bandits in Nigeria

Following a peace dialogue with armed bandits in Jibia and Batsari Local Government Areas, security analyst Bukarti warned against engaging in peace talks with such groups, labeling their actions as terrorism. Bukarti criticized the open display of sophisticated weapons by the bandits during the meeting, likening it to a military parade meant to intimidate the public.

He cautioned that negotiating with armed criminals could escalate tensions and lead to further violence. Despite Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi's involvement in engaging with armed groups, Bukarti urged the government to take direct control of negotiations to prevent concessions to criminal elements.
