Tinubu to Address APC Governors Over Wike's Coalition

President Bola Tinubu is expected to intervene in a disagreement between Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC). This intervention is prompted by tensions surrounding Wike's "Rainbow Coalition," which the governors believe could negatively affect the APC's candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Reports indicate that Tinubu may convene a meeting with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) as early as next week to discuss the matter. The APC governors recently met in Abuja, where they unanimously resolved to oppose any political alliances that could undermine the party's strength or its candidates.

Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State Governor and Chairman of the PGF, stated their commitment to the APC and its candidates. Wike has defended his coalition as a movement to support Tinubu's re-election while allowing for diverse political backing in other elections, leading to a clash with the APC governors.
