Tinubu Appoints Aminu Yusuf as NPC Chairman: Senate Confirmation Pending

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Aminu Yusuf as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Population Commission (NPC). The nomination was part of efforts to enhance the institution's effectiveness.

The appointment was conveyed in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session. Additionally, Keji Onwu was nominated as an independent director on the board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

The nominations are subject to Senate confirmation as per the Nigerian constitution. This move aligns with the government's commitment to reposition key regulatory institutions for improved service delivery.
