Tinubu Greenlights Oil Drilling and Seaport Project in Ogun State

Governor Abiodun of Ogun State revealed that Tinubu approved the commencement of commercial oil drilling in Ogun Waterside and the immediate take-off of the Olokola Deep Seaport project. The seaport, located in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, is a significant breakthrough with the potential to decongest Lagos port and empower coastal communities economically.

The project is expected to provide logistic corridors and economic opportunities, with a focus on inclusivity and coastal development. The Nigerian Navy's establishment of a forward operating base on Tongeji Island was also commended for enhancing security and preventing neighboring countries' infiltration.
