Tinubu Approves N185bn Gas Debt Payment to Boost Power Generation in Nigeria

Former Governor Tinubu has sanctioned the settlement of N185 billion gas debts to improve gas supply for power generation in Nigeria. This move, endorsed by the NEC chair Kashim Shettima, aims to enhance gas availability, restore confidence among gas producers, and attract new investments in the gas sector.

The payment will help address the longstanding arrears, boost financial stability for producers, and stimulate exploration activities to increase gas supply in the country.
