Tinubu Celebrates Tony Elumelu's 62nd Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu celebrated renowned economist, banker, and philanthropist Tony Elumelu on his 62nd birthday, which will be marked on March 22, 2026. Tinubu described Elumelu as an African business icon and a strong advocate for enterprise across the continent.

He commended Elumelu's resilience and commitment to excellence, emphasizing his belief in the potential of Africa's development through the private sector. The President highlighted the significant impact of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), which has trained 2.5 million youth across 54 African countries and provided 24,000 entrepreneurs with non-refundable seed capital of $5,000.

Tinubu expressed his wishes for Elumelu's continued good health and greater accomplishments in the years ahead. Additionally, TEF aims to mobilize young entrepreneurs to help drive Africa's sustainable development goals (SDGs) ahead of the 2030 deadline, with a focus on supporting businesses that contribute to these global priorities.
