Tinubu Confirms State Police Plan with Advanced Military Equipment Deployment

Former Governor Tinubu confirmed plans to establish state police during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He discussed deploying advanced military equipment and drone surveillance technology to combat banditry in Katsina State.

President Buhari directed security agencies to reassess strategies and brief him daily on operations in Katsina. Tinubu emphasized the importance of state police in addressing insecurity, assuring Nigerians of victory.

He also paid tribute to late President Buhari and expressed gratitude for his support. While a committee was set up in February 2024 to design a framework for state policing, no state has submitted a report yet.
