Tinubu Dissolves Federal Properties Committee, Transfers Oversight

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially dissolved the Presidential Implementation Committee (PIC) on the Alienation of Federal Government Properties, a body that has managed the privatisation, sale, and lease of federal properties for over two decades. This decision was announced on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The committee, established in 2000 during former President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration, was tasked with overseeing the monetisation policy of federal properties. The dissolution is effective from November 5, 2025, with all related activities now under the purview of Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi.
