Tinubu Congratulates Iyalode Sade Ogunbiyi at 80

President Bola Tinubu extended his congratulations to Chief Sade Ogunbiyi, the Iyalode of Remoland, as she celebrated her 80th birthday on June 6, 2026. In a statement released on June 5, 2026, Tinubu recognized Ogunbiyi's invaluable contributions to the country and the international community, particularly in Nigeria's education sector.

He noted her strict Christian background and her commitment to serving the Christian community. Ogunbiyi succeeded the late Chief Hid Awolowo, wife of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Tinubu remarked that her life journey exemplifies dedication, as she continued to enhance her academic qualifications even after decades of supporting her husband. Ogunbiyi has had a distinguished career, beginning as a local and international teacher, and later serving in various administrative roles, including Chief Personnel Administrator at Obafemi Awolowo University and Senior Manager at Nigerian Merchant Bank.

She retired in 1996 and served as Deputy Managing Director at Signal Health Nigeria Limited until 2001.
