Tinubu Meets Lula In Brazil, Seeks Stronger Ties In Trade, Agriculture

Former Nigerian Governor Bola Tinubu met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil to strengthen trade and agricultural ties between the two nations. Tinubu described the meeting as a renewal of the historic relationship between Nigeria and Brazil.

He flew from Los Angeles to Brasília, where he was received by senior Brazilian government officials, including Ambassador Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte and Secretary for Africa and the Middle East Ambassador Carlos José Areias Moreno Garcete. Nigeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, also attended the reception.

Tinubu and Lula are expected to hold bilateral talks and sign memoranda of understanding. The meeting was marked by a formal welcoming ceremony with full military honors at the Planalto Palace.

Tinubu's visit is part of a broader diplomatic engagement with Brazil.
