Tinubu Orders Investigation into Kano Market Fire

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed a comprehensive investigation into the recent fire outbreak at the popular Singa Market in Kano, which resulted in the destruction of goods worth billions of naira. The fire reportedly started in a large provision store and engulfed the market within a short period.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information Strategy, disclosed this information on a Saturday following the incident. President Tinubu had previously reached out to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to obtain a situational report regarding the fire, which he described as tragic.

This incident is particularly alarming as it follows less than two weeks after another fire destroyed dozens of shops and properties in the same market, leaving traders in despair. The President's directive aims to investigate the causes of these recurrent market fires.
