Tinubu Directs MDAs to Implement Mandatory Health Insurance in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to issue a circular mandating Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to implement health insurance for their employees in line with the National Health Insurance Act 2022. The circular covers key areas such as enrolling employees in the National Health Insurance Authority plan and requiring valid Health Insurance Certificates for entities participating in public procurement.

This move aims to ensure compliance with mandatory health insurance requirements and promote constructive engagement with the private sector. The directive emphasizes the importance of employee health coverage and aligning with national health insurance regulations.
