Bola Tinubu Vows Increased Funding for Research and Innovation in Nigerian Universities

Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, reiterated his commitment to enhancing tertiary education standards and promoting innovation in Nigerian universities by investing in research, digital skills, and entrepreneurship. Speaking at the University of Ilorin's 40th convocation ceremony, Tinubu praised the institution's academic excellence and discipline.

He announced that the University of Ilorin was selected to host the National Universities Commission's (NUC) digital innovation hub to foster creative entrepreneurship among students. Tinubu also acknowledged the temporary economic challenges in Nigeria but emphasized the importance of ongoing reforms for a stronger and more inclusive economy.
