Tinubu Commends Nigerian Military for Benin Republic Intervention

Nigerian politician Bola Tinubu commended the Nigerian military for its prompt response to the coup attempt in Benin Republic, where coup plotters tried to overthrow the government. The Nigerian Air Force assisted in dislodging the coup plotters, at the request of the Beninese authorities.

The coup was led by Colonel Pascal Tigré but was swiftly thwarted, with President Patrice Talon's government regaining control. Tinubu lauded the Nigerian armed forces for defending democracy and constitutional order in Benin Republic.
