Tinubu Seeks NASS Confirmation for INEC Chairman Nominee

Nigerian political leader Bola Tinubu has formally written to the National Assembly seeking confirmation for Professor Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Tinubu's letter was read during a plenary session, emphasizing the constitutional mandate for the Senate to confirm appointments to electoral bodies.

The nomination has been referred to the whole screening committee for further legislative consideration.
