Tinubu Seeks Senate Approval for ₦1.15 Trillion Domestic Borrowing to Bridge 2025 Budget Gap

Former Lagos State Governor and political leader Bola Tinubu has formally requested the Nigerian Senate's approval for a ₦1.15 trillion domestic borrowing to address the budget shortfall in 2025. The proposal aims to secure funds to ensure the full execution of government programs and projects as planned for the 2025 fiscal year.

The Senate President, Godswil Akpabio, has referred the request to a committee for examination and report submission within a week for further legislative action.
