Tinubu Calls for APC Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized the necessity for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party prepares for the 2027 general election. During a meeting with the party's 31 governors at the State House in Abuja, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State conveyed that Tinubu highlighted the importance of strengthening the party and ensuring that political activities align with efforts to alleviate poverty and improve the welfare of Nigerians.

Tinubu called for national unity and urged governors to involve citizens in the implementation of government programs. He stated that the responsibility for grassroots mobilization would significantly fall on the governors, as electoral contests are primarily decided at the state and local levels.

Sule reiterated that the elections occur at the state level rather than in Abuja, indicating that governors will lead the campaign efforts within their respective states.
