Tinubu Warns Criminals After Kogi Bandit Leader Killed

President Bola Tinubu issued a warning to criminals across Nigeria after troops eliminated notorious bandit leader Ibrahim Bastuji in Kogi State. The operation, which Tinubu commended on Tuesday, was described as a significant blow to the criminal network terrorizing the region.

Bastuji was accused of orchestrating violence and kidnappings that inflicted hardship on local residents. Tinubu's statement, signed by his special adviser Bayo Onanuga, highlighted the determination of security forces to reclaim every inch of Nigerian territory from criminals.

He also congratulated the troops for rescuing Hajiya Amina Abubakar, the widow of the late former Chief of Defence Staff Maj Gen Rabe Abubakar (retd), who had been abducted by bandits in Katsina State. The President reassured Nigerians of the government's commitment to providing resources and support to the armed forces to combat banditry and kidnapping.

Meanwhile, the People's Redemption Party criticized the federal government for the worsening security situation, calling for stronger action against insecurity and the release of kidnapped individuals.
