PDP Criticizes Tinubu's 2026 Budget for Renewing Nigerians' Suffering

The People Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki criticized President Bola Tinubu's 2026 budget, alleging that it will exacerbate the suffering of Nigerians instead of providing hope. The PDP highlighted the high poverty rate in Nigeria, with 30.9% living below the international extreme poverty line, despite reported GDP growth.

Comrade Ini Ememobong, the Public Secretary, emphasized that economic growth alone does not guarantee improved living standards. The PDP rejected the President's figures on economic progress, pointing out a lack of sector stimulation and benefits reaching the majority of Nigerians.

The comparison was drawn to the APC-led federal government's economic decline.
