Tinubu's 2nd Term Bid Gets Boost as Key Northern Group Declares Support, Gives Reason

A key Northern group, FCT Agenda, has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's second term bid, citing recent developments in the Nigeria Customs Service as a reason for their endorsement. The group's chairman, Ene Ogbole, stated at a press conference that they believe Tinubu is the right choice given the challenges facing the region, including unemployment, insecurity, and political thuggery.

The group also urged political leaders to wisely utilize state allocations for the welfare of the poor and vulnerable populations. The FCT Agenda initiative was prompted by the prolonged suffering and crises faced by the region, particularly severe security challenges.

The group's support for Tinubu comes amid controversy over the tenure extension of the current Controller General of Customs, Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, with some stakeholders in the Southeast viewing the move as a way to deny the next in line, Mrs. Nwafor, a chance to assume the position.
