Tinubu's Aide Critiques Nasboi Over Misleading Video

Dada Olusegun, a special assistant to President Bola Tinubu, criticized comedian and content creator Nasboi for sharing a video online that he described as misleading and fear-inducing. Olusegun stated that the video, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, was identified as originating from the Republic of Benin and not Nigeria.

He emphasized that the footage had no connection to Nigeria and could potentially cause public anxiety. Olusegun's comments came in response to the video, which Nasboi captioned as showing armed men on motorcycles conducting a raid, suggesting it depicted terrorist activities in Nigeria's northeast.

However, Olusegun clarified that the footage was linked to a terrorist group operating in Benin, and he condemned the spread of such "fake" content. He did not provide further details about the video's origin.

Recent reports indicated that the group Jama Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, affiliated with al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for an attack on a Beninese army barrack near the Burkina Faso border around May 25.
