Tinubu’s minister emerges new APC National Chairman

Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, has been appointed as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His appointment was announced during the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This change in leadership comes after the resignation of former chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje due to health issues. Yilwatda, a former governorship candidate in Plateau State, is known for his strong grassroots appeal and loyalty within the party.

His appointment is seen as a move to unite the party ahead of significant political events, including the upcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Edo, and Ondo states. The decision to appoint Yilwatda was described as a consensus choice by President Bola Tinubu, who presided over the NEC meeting attended by notable figures such as Vice President Kashim Sh.
