APC's Bashiru on Alliance with Adeleke for Tinubu's Win

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified its alliance with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election. Despite the APC's established political structure and previous contests against Adeleke's party, he was appointed as a coordinator for Tinubu's presidential campaign in Osun State.

Senator Ajibola Bashiru, APC National Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, emphasized that the alliance does not necessitate the party abandoning its candidates in other elections. Bashiru stated that the agreement focuses on securing Tinubu's victory while allowing APC members to contest for seats in the Senate, House of Representatives, and Osun State House of Assembly.

He acknowledged his past opposition to Adeleke during the governorship election but affirmed the importance of collaboration for Tinubu's re-election. Bashiru also dismissed claims that Adeleke's appointment would grant him control over the APC's political structure in Osun, asserting that the campaign structure accommodates various political interests.
