Tonto Dikeh Sued for N200M Over Viral Deliverance Video

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh is facing a N200 million lawsuit filed in the Federal Capital Territory High Court by human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi. The lawsuit is on behalf of a junior secondary school (JSS 1) student from Rivers State, who is a teenage girl.

The legal action stems from a viral video showing Dikeh conducting a deliverance session at a secondary school in Durumi II, Abuja. The footage was shared online without the girl's consent, which the lawsuit claims violates her privacy rights under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Child Rights Act of 2003.

The suit demands N200 million in damages, a public apology from Dikeh, and the removal of the video from social media platforms. Obasi has urged the court to declare that Dikeh's actions violated the girl's constitutional rights to dignity and privacy.
