Top 10 most affordable Nigerian states to live in July 2025

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released its July 2025 Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, revealing a decline in headline inflation in Nigeria. The report highlighted the top 10 most affordable Nigerian states to live in, based on inflation rates.

Rivers State ranked tenth, with a decrease in headline inflation but a rise in food inflation. Jigawa State saw a slight increase in annual inflation, while Bauchi State experienced a decline, credited to government interventions to control food prices.

Ondo State slipped to seventh place, with a marginal increase in inflation. Gombe State and Sokoto State also saw drops in inflation rates, attributed to agricultural development initiatives.

Adamawa State recorded a significant drop in inflation, thanks to a World Bank agricultural project. These states are making efforts to enhance food production, improve food security, and make living more affordable for residents.
