Nigeria's Agricultural Exports Decline in Q2 2026

In Q2 2026, Nigeria's agricultural exports totaled N747.54 billion, with cashew nuts in shell emerging as the largest export product valued at N268.62 billion. Standard quality cocoa beans followed with N154.31 billion, and sesame seeds generated N96.03 billion.

This total was 34.8% lower than the N1.15 trillion recorded in Q1 2026 and 39.0% lower than the N1.23 trillion from Q2 2025. The ranking of export products shifted significantly, with superior quality cocoa beans experiencing a sharp decline, while standard quality cocoa beans saw an increase.

Soya beans seed ranked among the top 10, generating N11.44 billion, more than double its Q1 figure. Crude Shea oil exports rose to N12.66 billion, and natural cocoa butter exports decreased to N27.60 billion.

Other cut flowers and flower buds generated N31.43 billion, while soya bean flours and meals stood at N36.41 billion. Soya beans excluding seeds ranked fifth with N50.22 billion, reflecting a significant decline from Q1 2026.
