Plateau State Governor Reveals Shocking Death Toll and Security Concerns

Governor Caleb Mutfwang disclosed the staggering death toll of almost 12,000 people in Plateau State from 2001 to 2025, attributing it to violent attacks and insecurity. The revelation came during a public hearing where security experts, lawmakers, and community representatives discussed the escalating insecurity in the region.

Issues of land grabbing, destruction of farmland, and criminal exploitation of mining sites were highlighted. Calls were made for decentralization of Nigeria's security structure and a national resettlement program for internally displaced persons.

Reverend Gideon Para Mallam emphasized the need for protecting native land rights and religious freedom.
