Tottenham Hotspur in Talks with De Zerbi for Manager Role

Tottenham Hotspur is currently in talks with Roberto De Zerbi to appoint him as the new permanent head coach after the departure of Igor Tudor, who left the club by mutual consent on Sunday, following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Tudor's tenure lasted only 44 days, and the defeat left Tottenham just one point above the relegation zone.

Club Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham and Sports Director Johan Lang are tasked with finding a new manager as the team fights to retain its place in the Premier League. De Zerbi, who is currently available after leaving Olympique de Marseille earlier in the season, has emerged as Tottenham's primary target.

Sources indicate that the Italian coach is open to taking the role but initially preferred to wait until the end of the season to assess whether the club remains in the top flight. However, discussions are ongoing, and an agreement may be reached before the end of the season, with Tottenham considering offering De Zerbi a long-term contract.
