U.S. Embassy Protest Over Unpaid Oil Deal Commissions

Transaction facilitators, led by Moham Abubakar, Managing Director of NUPE A2Z Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, protested at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja over unpaid commissions from oil deals.

The protest aimed to draw attention to the persistent delays in financial settlements owed to them despite claims that American companies involved had fulfilled their payment obligations to the Nigerian government. Abubakar stated that the commissions arose from successful transactions involving Bonny Light Crude Oil (BLCO) and other petroleum products, valued at billions of dollars.

The facilitators had agreements to receive commissions upon completion of these transactions, yet payments remained outstanding. The protest group included representatives from NUPE A2Z and former military personnel, emphasizing the urgency of their demands.

They expressed hope for U.S. government intervention to expedite the resolution of their disputes and ensure prompt payment of their commissions, which they deemed unjustly withheld.
