Desailly Critiques Chelsea's Signing of Max Lacroix

Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly criticized the club's decision to sign France international Max Lacroix, questioning his suitability for the team. In an interview with BOYLE Sports, Desailly stated that Chelsea should target more accomplished players, emphasizing the need for a defender with greater experience and leadership qualities.

He remarked, “Is he truly what Chelsea requires? I genuinely believe they need a centre-back with more experience, someone who is already established and can step in to lead the defense.” Desailly acknowledged Lacroix's performance at Crystal Palace but expressed concerns about his potential success at Chelsea, noting the different challenges faced at Stamford Bridge compared to Palace.

He pointed out Lacroix's underwhelming performances for the French national team, particularly against Spain and England, and stated that while Lacroix could fit into the team, he is eager to see how Chelsea's current coach, Alonso, organizes the defense. Lacroix is currently on vacation after his time with the French national team.
