Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims, Foil Terror Attack in Kaduna

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully thwarted a terrorist attack in Kaduna State and rescued three kidnapped victims in Zamfara State. A statement from Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the JTF Media Information Officer, detailed that troops from Sector 1 responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities at Unguwan Gardago Village in Kaduna North Local Government Area.
The terrorists had robbed residents of motorcycles and mobile phones and abducted a civilian to guide them. Troops mounted an ambush along the terrorists' withdrawal route, forcing them to flee and abandon looted items, including three motorcycles and a PKT machine gun.
Unfortunately, the abducted civilian was killed by the terrorists, and his body was later recovered and returned to his relatives. In a separate operation on the same day, troops from Sector 2 engaged terrorists attacking a Canter vehicle along the Anka-Gummi Road in Zamfara State, leading to the rescue of three victims and the recovery of terrorist communication equipment.
The JTF urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
