JTF North West Troops Eliminate Terrorist, Rescue Victims

On Saturday, troops from Sector 2 of the JTF North West, under the command of Lt Col Aliyu Danja, conducted operations in Sokoto and Zamfara States. Acting on credible intelligence, they targeted a suspected terrorist camp in Gudu Local Government Area, Sokoto State, where they engaged and killed an isolated terrorist.

The operation yielded significant recoveries, including one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a foreign military uniform, and various tools and clothing. In Zamfara State, the troops responded to an attempted abduction of members of the Sarkin Samari’s family in Tsafe Local Government Area.

Upon arrival, they engaged the terrorists, forcing them to retreat into nearby bushes, and successfully rescued six kidnap victims. These victims were taken to a secure location for reunification with their families.

Lt Col Danja urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies regarding terrorist activities.
