Turkey: Insult to Muslims – Outrage as mosque is renamed after Osimhen

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will play against Karagumruk on Friday, despite controversy surrounding the renaming of a mosque after the Nigerian striker. Osimhen was included in the squad for the match against Gaziantep on Saturday, with Buruk explaining that the player needed time to regain full fitness after arriving late to training due to negotiations with Napoli.

The mosque in question, previously known as Bulut Mosque in Konya, was listed as "Victor Osimhen Mosque" on Google Maps, sparking outrage among worshippers and community members. Zeki Yaylacı expressed disappointment, calling the renaming a mockery and an insult to Muslims.

It is believed that the renaming was a result of incorrect user edits on Google Maps. Osimhen is unlikely to have been involved in the decision to rename the mosque.
