Oyo Police Arrest Two in Nathaniel Peter Kidnapping Case

The Oyo State Police Command arrested two suspects, Muhammadu Abubakar and 17-year-old Jayun Danali, in connection with the abduction of 38-year-old Nathaniel Peter from Layeri Village, Ikoyi-Ile, Oriire Local Government Area. The abduction occurred at approximately 4:20 am on September 24, when three armed men invaded Peter's family compound, forcibly entering his room and taking him.

The assailants escaped through the National Reserve Forest, taking with them Peter's Hajue motorcycle and mobile phone. The incident was reported to the police at around 5:50 pm the same day, prompting an investigation.

Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade stated that the arrests have provided useful leads for identifying other gang members. The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are intensifying efforts to rescue Peter and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Ayanlade urged community residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to assist in the investigation.
